79. Delayed: Smooth Holiday Operation

Personal/Ideals
"Befriend our Earth & Universe: Earth, rotating at its own axis, partially receiving the ray of sunlight with the Moon to accompany its journey round the Star. So we have day and night. After each night, you cross out a slot from the calendar. Make the crossing meaningful, enjoy every single hour you have having fun with friends and family. I did it, my one week holiday feel like one month worth of joy. Feel good cheers."~wallpost from Facebook

Back to you KCH, Rooster for yer. BB and SRV for YW and all of us. And Mustaine to crush all of you guys.

I have to post this a little later than maybe expected due to internet connection problem, courtesy of Streamyx. And... this is quite a lengthy one. It's personal journal. Or activity story-telling.

"Imagine, you see stars shining and lights shimmering, but there is no god to reach for"

Just a quote that I'm referring to to the modem internet signal lights blinking with no line coming in.

So yeah, I had one week of great fun. If I were to compare blindly the activities and amount of joy shed from this holiday to any previous holidays, the latest would definitely fall short and abrupt. But let's count the satisfaction rating that is conceived in the heart and the brain.

This latest holiday week would be the best...though I forgot to invite Razeen for football the second time when he could actually make it already(i think so).

Why would I claim that this time the fun is as or more exhilirating than the rest when it's only 1 week long. I believe it's the outcome and post-fun satisfaction..whatever you could comprehend. I believe I end all the activities moderately with the feeling in the guts saying, "nothing lasts forever". Whereas the other times I had fun blindly, and were fun-thirsty for more. That explains the karma-ish perception of fun.

This time, I enjoyed and in my heart I said, "well, let's have things in balance. For friends and family. I know time is limited. So spend it wisely." Furthermore in my head, with the rest of my studymates we already had a common plan to have a job training this coming end of the year after the final exams. This reserve of time and emotion has a good onset to the settling down of my play-hard-non-stop guts.

So it shows, that I'm ready. It's not all just about having fun all the time. If you want to work with the extremes, then "Work hard, Play hard". But I supposed, there should be of moderation.

I did say too recently on spending up the holidays, I want to relax more. Anyway, back in Penang friends such as Hooi and KY have STPM on their way. Thus, I balanced my holidays spending balanced time with my family and friends. More meals together with family. More time spent back in the house, the presence of me completes the family home sweet home. As my mother quoted, "we could see Jared more often this time".

Partly also because I grow more mature as a person who comes back for holidays regularly already since last year. We actually had more than enough fun already, come to think of it. It's in the growing maturity, the essence of our youth that is. Hopefully wise youths like you reading me now agree with me.

"We'll live to see your god standing alongside us someday"

How so? We're going to outlive and outgrow the holy image someday after living and learning long enough to be able to stand by ourselves. Maybe I'm denying your maker. But give me the benefit of doubt, I shall live the way I could with principles.

zap zap zap god strikes wrath zap zap zap

This is for the 8th time I come back home since I left home sweet home in July last year.
So I had this so-called reunion. This time it's simple. It's not like any other time we could get together and actually appreciate it. We did it this time, at least to my eyes and heart. We have: Hooi, YW, KY, Jonathan, Jon and me myself. The basic brotherhood of mine. I didn't really care about what activity we're gona do. As the "playmaker" hahaa I just just wana make sure that we get along in something fun even though the planning is messy.

Here it goes:
1. the not-so-successful Dim Sum breakfast, nevermind cos it feeds [Me, KY, Jon + g]
2. Main course: Bowling [All + g1 +g2] - The Singaboy Jon pwns with the highest points scored
3. the confused-plan Sushi lunch at Queensbay, nevermind cos it feeds again [All + g1 + g2 - KY]
4. Spontaneous plan: Movie: The Ugly Truth [same] - good movie that could make me laugh
5. Simple dinner at kopitiam [Me, Jon, YW, Hooi + g] - I enjoy the chicken feet
6. Reunite - CC Dota challenge cos we have 3v3 [All + g]
~Dota score tally: YW-3, HOOI-2, me-2, JON-1, JONA-1, KY-1 [3 games]

- g stands for girl for privacy purpose heh.

And yeah, we had our overnight reunion too YW's. This time KY and Jona were the ones pia till morning on a PS3 game, Resident Evil 5. For your information, the previous games were Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas and Siren 2. Graphic and shocking games in the darkness. Oh yeah, Little Wing jam has been a great start. We'll work further on improving it.

Guitar Hero:
Jona - vocals - fail (on Michael Jackson - Beat It)
Me - drums - fail (on Linkin Park - What I've Done -Expert) haha

heyy, but YW and I did great on Seven Nation Army. I realised I have to get high as in high on drugs on the beats to stay in-time. shux.

The rest: Football, Hiking, Football, Batu Lanchang Market, Esplanade Mee Sotong, Argyll Road RC and Swatow Lane.

And, here's to something fun and really random. I missed a turning to Hooi's house after leaving Esplanade. I was on the right lane and mentioned about the ferry. Hooi simply suggested, "wana sit ferry?" Oh? Alright, let's go then. As the traffic light turns green my left signal blinked furiously and I received honkings from all directions as I cut into everyone's lanes into the port. So there we YW, Hooi and me myself were. A Viva la Ride on the Penang ferry service. To Butterworth. uhoh.

And then, that was my first time driving on the Penang Bridge. YW snoozing away quick. All tired from the whole day worth of hike, sky-praising, mee-sotong and ferry cruise.

Appall for the anti-Nikes. I bought a Nike goalkeeping gloves. At a low price, my dream finally came through after 7 years of wanting one. Comfortable and superb, as commended by Jason.

Updated: Rock-@$$ a.k.a Ass-rock (in my roll of links.

I think, my next demo recording may be a Happy Birthday song. When, subject to how free I am. How, it's gona be a 2- or 3-track recording. Hopefully, I will be successful in tackling the timing setback this time.

Ambition no.3: Sound Engineering - in recording and production.

New ambition plan: Join the Air Force (RMAF).

71. With Passion & Patience for Faith

Ideals/Personal
Check out this Luke Edney recommended by Ye-Wheen. Great great blues..great great great...
"It's so easy"~It's So Easy, Guns N' Roses 1987

Yes, it's easy. To survive if we're not going to create and reinvent or start a new kind of living and discard the old edge, we just innovate and reuse standard conformed ways. Like we do everyday.

That is why dying is unique. It involves displacement of tears and plenty of brain and heart muscle abnormal contractions. Because no one has ever come back to tell us how is the living different from the life we're currently in. That's the new edge. A new horizon.

Well, I'll be eager for it and support Dave Mustaine. He is coming up with a new world order. More information.

Oh YEAH, Rock-A$$ has updates ongoing this season. Hopefully it could pack some entertainment.

"oh baby nice shoes..." eheh cos it's 23rd on a Tuesday, another day to "Tuesday's Gone".

[Megadeth - New World Order. Motley Crue - Hell on High Heels. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Tuesday's Gone]

61. Viva la Vida JS+VH+RHCP

Ideals
Woops. The title is meant to attract attention from Coldplay fans and people..heh. Nothing about them anyway except that... they won that song in the Grammy's. And that song was sued by Joe Satriani for plagiarism on his If I Could Fly. I didn't notice as a listener to Joe. And because I wasn't listening to Coldplay (I used to 6 years ago). The copyright infringement suit was filed last December. I read it firsthand in The Star newspaper. wooo...

Check out youtube for experts showcasing the similarity in their tunes. Who knows..either Coldplay really stole his work or probably Coldplay just hit a similar tune with one of the million compositions in the world.

wouh, this looks familiar. nono no plagiarism, just inspiration. Hmm....I wonder..HAHAH for those who noticed, nvm..

Do check out too his JS series electric guitars from Ibanez and his Peavey amps...my personal favourite sound and style.

So, what is it about JS+VH+RHCP?
Yeah, that's right. As I know, they are Chickenfoot. Tentatively named so before their official release.

This is what you will get from the Otherside from each of the members.
JS = Joe Satriani
VH = Van Halen (they are two members from Van Halen)
RHCP = Chad Smith the drummer from Red Hot Chili Peppers

I get a tinge of funk. Why not add Buckethead or Tom Morello(Audioslave) for that sense of music. And Tom Morello kicks anti-rock dance clubbers asses nicely. If you would, check out his Rage Against The Machine songs or maybe even his current work you wil experience dj-ing or scratching of the loops sounds being made by playing a guitar. heh.

Have fun, breathers.

ah yeah, I came across this...probably Joe's inspiration according to rumours. Check out Cat Stevens' song as it is in this particular blog.

[The word Otherside drew inspiration from the song title "Otherside" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.]

48. Murphy's Law

Friends & Family
"If anything can go wrong, it will"...

one of the would-be-learnt topic in the subject Human Factors in near future

Yeah, true. Anything. Everything. Any time. Every time.

So the talk of having a Kerachut was long started and the plan was to take place in this end time of the year. In less than 24 hours, the subject was brought up before we went swimming. This time: Hooi, Khang Yang, Daniel, Ye-Wheen and Jonathan with only 4 goggles. So we agreed. Spontaneous last minute conception of a wonderful and blissful hiking beach trip. That was the way to organize a Kerachut trip since 3 years ago. HAHA. My first time was with the Sea Scouts back in 2003.

Then the 2nd came when Mr. KY suddenly called in the midnight in the end of year 2006. The idea came from his brother. Ok, 2 days later then we went. The 3rd trip took place just like hmm...April this year, 8 months ago with Jon, YW and Hooi and of course the mother/father of Kerachut plan, Mr. KY.

That one was a special occurrence. Hah. It was planned already in advance a week earlier. But due to something I have forgotten about plus the day before the plan Jon, Hooi and I hiked and we're were like so tired and felt bored about the plan so we called it off, ourselves. Then came YW who actually cancelled off his appointments and other plans before going back to KL just to join in the trip admitted about the mentioned thing. I was deeply feeling guilty and with friendship spirit and luckily-good motivation-ed sportsman brought back the plan and called it ON again. hoho we sure had fun.

And ok the 4th. It was like 10 hours close to happening. And then it happened...the real cancellation. woohoo..and yeah I am typing this post while sending and receiving messages of discussion on the matter. This time, the spontaneity fails. Because not many could make it. Hooi has a gig this Tuesday night the 30th. Some busy. Some forbidden. Left me, KY and YW die out of enthusiasm BUT no worries, we've got a new plan. The Penang Hill. You just can't leave the adenosine triphosphates, mitochrondrion and the muscle tissues in such a temperamental shock..so keep them moving and rocking. Tamparan hebat.

Hooi on the Trombone, with friends of the Jazz Music
USM Auditorium Dewan Budaya
Tickets: SOLD OUT

sorry babes..

And I want to get this novel, The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper. The movie is not bad to me, I like that kind of fantasy and magical adventure. heh.

Books haven't I touched/finished:(if I can remember)
-True Sea Stories (man, I'm skipping the chapters already..can't stand the boredom)
-Chicken Soup for Teenager Soul
-The Simple Science of Flight #
-The Black Hole War #
-Mister B. Gone ##
-Shadowmancer ##
-SAS: Are You Tough Enough?
-Harry Potter: Goblet Stone (and after that)
##-Dying to read
#-Eager to read

Fark..I'm so hopeless in reading. Couldn't find the nice time to sit down and read. Laptop. Guitar. Bed.

Both dying to read books are dark fantasy disillusioning writings. And the eager to reads are physics-davinci-einstein-newton-hawking related books. Shit..another one, an e-book of The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. Fun eh..it even has its documentary shows in Discovery Channel.

So, what's up? End of the year. Freaking last days of the year 2008. The aftermath of the Big Bangs. Meaningless but filled with imbalanced impacts. The aspects most affected and infected by alien invisible undiscovered substances: Relationships; education and career; life thoughts.

Upcoming post: The identity of the multi-faceted year 2008 revealed.

Current: Scraped skin(from ridge-free slide). Tanned skin. Burnt skin. Polished white ass. Sculpted muscle. Fun. From swimming. Another one ok, before all of us part again for year 2009. Swimming was never fun this fun, seriously. The best was YW moaning, "pls no pls dun, i will give u money later!" Correct me la if script wrong ahaha

47. The Holiday Joy Ultimatum

Friends & Family
First of all, Merry Christmas. It's the dawn of 25th of December. Hooi, ur disappointing...sleeping wth you should be granting people happiness and be worshipped, the Jeesus.

To obliterate the murky and gloomy past...cover up with joyous moments spent together with friends and family. Back in hometown. The island. The great floating land linked by a sophisticated stand-firm bridge...longest in South East Asia right?

hang on...the writer's brain block slowly dissipating...boo. Boom.

Alright it has been almost 3 weeks since I came back from my campus. And the last written post was a tribute to Hide. The previous was just an informative post.

As you know, I've been granted an electric guitar already. ahha got photos already..

And I've done lots of activities since then. The ranked top as the most frequently done activity is(besides food) CC. Malei... It's a tour of death la.. Getting such freaky affinity for DOTA. Not just because it's a great game(interesting) but I keep playing it to learn more and more and improve and most of the time, to no avail. I'm a holy shit owning noob. Dun challenge me. Boring.

Here's a short video of my game back in my hostel room to kill time. It was a Naruto TD. Background music was actually my laptop speaker blaring, Slipknot - Gematria(The Killing Name).

Alright, so let's go. I will go through very briefly what I've done and been doing.
-Tried the guitar in different positions and styles. Getting comfortable with it. hah.

-....wait, I can't really remember anymore what I did. Let's see..there's Jason. Oh yes. I have been catching up with this long time bruddy(Jbrother+buddy) this holidays. Only that he left for KL so soon. Haven't swam with him. So I brought him out to hiking. First was the wednesday with Hooi. And then a food recommendation tour to the Argyll Road Roti Canai(RC) stall. I had earlier mentioned it as my childhood favourite RC place.

-Roti racist-roti masin-roti mini-roti dahaga-

But...it was a bad day. What a bad impression to Jason. It's so farking bad that day! So small in size and yet it tastes like eating solid sea water, figuratively...totally like salt accidentally spilt into the preparation. The worse is the fact that only our table(chinese boys) receive such small pieces of RC and they taste horrible. So we started thinking of racism. Fark. I almost vomited...like forcing 100% sodium chloride ingestion. I complained to the manager and cook. They started explaining...bla bla..ok la give chance la since I still love this place.

-did some Botanical Gardens jogging and exercising too with him and Hooi.

-Ye-Wheen came back too . Then we did our first G3 extravagance overnight. With guest performance by Jonathan. haha. It was rather a tiring night...with a late binge and booze. Heck, YW added Carlsberg into the noodle..ramen I think..kimchi-esque..ok la. Get high. The PS3 games of the night were Soul Calibur 4 (or 5??) and The Siren. The Siren is a farkup thriller horrifying game. I call it like that. Similar to the likes of Silent Hill where you brace the darkness and fear in a dead place. It's a great game, with each of us taking turns to complete the objectives. Super fun plus agitation plus fear plus 4am ambience.

-hmm..what else? oh yeah, swimming. First blood. With Jonathan and YW. Fun. But certainly cold with the morning wind chills at my apartment outdoor pool. Followed by a very satisfying wallet-blowing-jacking billed lunch. At El Mondo's. RM112 for 3 persons. wooh. 3 pizzas with drinks and service charge with government tax.

-hmmm...then? CC lo.. Eating out lo.. Garena at home lo... Basically these make up the life during this holidays.

-Should be nothing so significant anymore..so it's Jonathan's party occasion. His conceived plan of organizing a BBQ party. Exclusively for close friends and especially his loved one who came down to visit Penang. So we had fun doing disco while cooking daging(Zohan quote). Good chicken, beef, balls, sausages, corn and bellpeppers from Mr. Ng Khang Yang. The ending, the forced-to-finish-it-up cooking was ended abruptly by the tiny droplets of drizzling. CC was the destination after that. Until 1am.
Aeroplanes in the sky, landing. Big loo...wuahh...

-ok coming near to today already. woohoo..speed reading or whatever...I know not enough alluring visual-enhancing photos here.

-After the BBQ and CC, a few hours later..as in 11am the next morning, we went hiking till number 3 of Youth Park. woooh...rock climbing and rope climbing were the amusement. And there I had my scratch on my leg. I FARKING SLIPPED OFF THE small CLIFF. Funny the way i slided down. Even YW's handphone flung out of his pocket without him knowing. "kenot break one". And then lunch at Batu Lanchang market. And then CC. Serious..the same venue.

-Dinner with family at...El Mondo's. haha. Here a picture. Folded pizza..

-Swimming, this time with YW and Khang Yang. Same thing..bone chilling winds. This time the amusement was delving into deep depth of the pool to touch the bottom. YW even got his head touched to the bottom. I failed. But I managed, to crawl underwater..wooohoo..sounds fun huh.

...ooh it's bright already... 7.30am and I'ven't sleep yet.

-The Monday, 22nd. Went for dental. Given the plan of removing my braces in February. YEAH! Then to Hooi's house to kill time. Next fetch YW and Raymond. MEE SOTONG. Compulsory holiday outing and get-together lunch. With Joel. And yeah, meeting up with the arch-mouth-debating-rivals Daniel and Andrew. Proceeded to PENANG BOWL for bowling. Jonathan tagged along. Joined the organizer people, Eric, Seow, Razeen, Danial and Reshvinder(a pal who parted since 2006 for Australia).

- 23rd. Home Garena as usual..to kill time. Then the night, rockers' trip to PESSOC performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony at Dewan Sri Pinang. Woohoo..Ode To Joy. Then meet up with Adelyn the violinist haaha after the show. Like so many bunches of PFS mates around especially the Chorus people.. Hooi wearing a T-shirt inside with the phrase, "If it ain't Rock, it ain't music", ahaha such irony. Luckily no bash up by the Jascha Shimano the Yngwie Malmsteen-huge-Conductor of the orchestra. Penang CM Mr. Lim was supposed to be there but according to my mum, he only made it to the Sushi Kin dining with the horde of Dato's and Datin's. Elite arrogant rich manifests...

---->It was a Tuesday. And it rained before and after the night. Hell yeah. Actually I was invited by Cheng Yee to Wei Loon's homecoming party. Fux..couldn't make it. Sorry dudes..

- and then....?? Nothing else. I slept the whole day as a matter of hangover...lousy driver's remorse. Then Garena gaming till like what??few hours ago. And then the writing of this post. Very meaningful life I got here.

Ok..one more picture(urh..a little dark.forgot to edit a bit). To show you my guitar, the most recent look. The Rose.

Oh yeah! One more thing. Just yesterday I had a dream. And this guy, my class monitor appeared and did something. I forgot what. I was thinking why the heck I dreamt of him. Fark. Hours later, I received a voice mail while my phone was switched off from him. A distress call regarding our practical assignment. Fark. I am the Dream sucker.

So, next big thing..hmm..
-Kerachut Hike & Beach Leisure. Who wanna go, tag along and say YES to me. Not confirmed when.
-USM Jazz performance. Hooi is in! GO GO GO! But tickets are selling like hot sex.
-2nd G3 extravagance at YW's. Live footage recording
-hmmm....around 15 days left to go back to MIAT

ok time to sleep. Enjoy your life. Merry Christmas to those who are celebrating. I'm not. I only receive presents. But my number of presents dwindled down like from having (similar example) 20 boxes to now receiving like maybe 5 or less or close to nil. Aging. Also, have a happy new year. 2009. Should be a nice year for ..duno..anything joyous. Rock on.

Next posts should touch more photos..especially my guitar and particularly my activity captures.

44. Forget & Wither

Personal
The number four. In chinese, as I know for dialects such as mandarin, hokkien and cantonese they are all pronounced similar to the word "die" which means die. So you see, most of Chinese owned automobiles won't have the number four for their number plates. Sixty nine is better right which is 69. So my post hits the two digits of four. WOW. So I got nothing special to storytell. Only disappointment and first time in my life I admit I regret.

Not putting extra effort in my Material & Hardware subject which is like studying History with chemical equations. But me, failing to do well in it 12 hours ago is like feeling worse than flunking history and bio altogether. Really. Really disgruntled. But let's not meddle with the past. I will look forward to the results. See if I can still achieve a flat cgpa of 4.00. Ambitious, lest I won't get to see myself achieving something like that in education in my life ever because semester 1 seriously is the simplest and easiest to score. Grr...

So I have another 11 hours to another paper, this one is similar to E&E. Electrical Fundamental I. And I haven't got my sleep yet. Yet another disappointment? Touchwood. 4 papers left and I'm off my jungle territory. Back to nest in around 4 days time, dudes and babes...

It's December, can you believe it? It was a year (-already-) ago I was done with SPM and now dealing with another kind...Ok. Take care. Cheers. See you around.

43. The Limits of The Dead + Sayonara Asrama

Personal/Ideals
Be afraid...the darkness that appears in the daylight. This is serious holy shit that is produced by Slipknot as the latest album after 4 years. All Hope Is Gone. Totally (sic). I recommend it to those who are (sic) of the environment and the life being in control by all The MAN. If you are a Maggot, we revel.

The "nano"gram, the 9-edged instead of 5-sided pentagram. It's imprinted translucent on the front and back of the booklet. Only Maggots could see it haah

There, the origin where my email got its name. #4 James Root, who uses a Telecaster >.<
"Whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger."
~The Joker[Dark Knight]

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Goodbye hostel..(you suck! and your price went up)
hah ahh....no more cat shits strewn wherever favourable. No more holding breaths while doing laundry. It's like Slipknot saying "breathing in sulfur", suffocating.

The closet

The roof (for spiderman acts when any neighbour gets stranded when they left the room locked without having the key)

The shower pipe

The door (whose door knob has its own anti-theft system-pseudolock stuck-tightness)

The room (censored for privacy discreet-Jonathan's side)

Even though there's many downsides of staying in hostel I still love the community and close proximity we have. You could just meet your friends and neighbour-student-mates anytime anywhere anyhow..nevermind, let go. hah

My desktop background! This particular face in the wallpaper seems to resemble a bit a girl(young lady) I met a few times at different places, a stranger but if I'm sane it's the same person(..my fetish for resemblance..). And I know she's staying in the apartment which I am going to move in to next year. Not too cute-not too pretty-just so sweeeet. "She, may be the face I can't forget"...ahh.
[the pink make it looks like a girl's]
It's in my handphone wallpaper too... ya noe, I don't get to "wash eyes" at my place so this is my kind of amusement haah.

So, 1 week to go...a week of final exam. Then Penang will experience a bang that has never occur before. An electrifying experience with more than 2 fretboards transmitting superstrings of distortion concoction fluctuation satisfaction devastation. A Bigger Bang, that's it. Get ready Hooi, YW, Joshua and Andrew (and maybe Jonathan XD).

["The limits of the dead" is a phrase from the song Psychosocial. "breathing in sulfur" is from Sulfur. "She, may...." is from Elvis Costello - She. "A Bigger Bang" is a title from The Rolling Stones]

41. The City of Evil + Electric Experience

Personal/Ideals
In fact, a retreat from city busy life into a jungle means pure fun and leisure but in hedonism terms...welcome to the City of Evil.

The Booze
[the one the other day we shared with Mou Jian]

The Game
[the "chor tai ti" card game that fills up spare time]

The Contraband
[this one is claimed to be only available in duty-free state. If not, it's smuggle item]

And..and and i kill a lot already. The fact is I don't despise insects and arachnids and I usually flick them off rather than killing. But at here, sigh..I do "DOUBLE KILL" or "mo mo MO MONSTER KILL" on the ants, spiders and bees. Cos' they keep coming like some eternal pilgrimage.. But good enough, I don't kill the cats.Nevertheless, i'm still a good young man. enough said =.=

After the mid-semester break I never thought that I would touch any guitar or strings until I return to island. Know what, just 4 days into the continuation of week I hit one. My eagerness grew fiery. I saw guitars in my neighbour's room and of course with no hesitation I'd borrowed it for the week...AH.
[Proof of Play]

1 month later, everything seemed to betray the fate. An electric took its turn on my lap and be abused. Pure luck. My friend told me that a friend brought it but because I don't know that person at all I didn't bother to take any effort to borrow it. Then the next day I overheard a conversation of my class monitor discussing about guitars and his friend who brought. Again, no shy shy balls handsomely made its way to the room and "confiscated" the electric right away..
[Proof of Electric, an Ibanez with 24 frets and two humbuckers. And my ESP pick.]
[As true as the claims of being good at clean tones, the Fender Frontman 15R]

Fuhh.."seperti cendawan tumbuh selepas hujan"---if it's correct.. Suddenly, the world of music spawned a revolution of underground guitarists. They just appear and make their presence felt at a sudden cancelling the perception that people here mostly make up of nerds and junkies. Music junkies, yes. So I'll have a good time jamming and rock in year 2009 with the new bunch of guitar freaks.

Here I would like to share a few videos of great drums and guitars covers with you guitars and drums lovers/fans/enthusiasts/desperados/freaks/collectors/
Lost Prophets - Last Train Home

Avenged Sevenfold - Beast and the Harlot

40. November Rain

Personal
Great quotes here... http://www.phnet.fi/public/mamaa1/johnson.htm

It's the 40th post already wooo...and it's been raining on and off. Especially on Tuesdays without fail since....ever since, Hooi you've been taking it into account hahah. And tomorrow is Tuesday I have 2 mid term exams.

I'm back from camping...Sg. Tua, Ulu Yam, Selangor. Heard of it? It's on the way to Genting Highlands. Cool place. Cool river, too fast the current I couldn't manage to hold on without staying behind the rocks. But not cool toilet, what to do 300 plus men stepping in and out with.

The best activity was river activity. Especially when we got punished to get down to there. We actually enjoyed it more than feeling remorsed. Second would be the night-blind-jungle-trekking. Only a rafia rope to hold on to. Torchlights were not allowed. And there I fell to my side into a puddle or a stream midway..got a small scratch. So it was so adventurously experienced fun. I even got punished to lie on the water way. The darkness. And a total of around 4 hours of sleep only woohoo no big deal. No pictures. Just experience and memory.

2 weeks of studies to go.
2 weeks to study leave.
3 weeks to the final exam
4 weeks countdown to the end.

Ok just for fun...books books books.. muahah

These books are meant to scare the standard one kids, or tell them it's magic. I was this proud first borrower of the book....first in the record. Tell you the truth, i didn't read it. it was merely a motivation charm taking up my pile space. I didn't have enough time for it and the writings in it are super Einstein-ish.

These are the research information book on aerospace. It's titled Progress In Astronautics And Aeronautics.

And I like this book but haven't started on it. Found the other titles in the series too which sound interesting.

So hmm... there goes. Why so serious..?

38. Saw Announcement + Jungle Oddities

Personal
Behold, Saw V.
I don't get to premiere it Yw or Hooi quickly get a copy by Christmas then we'll rock our balls at midnight..

Oh ya, gona catch the coming REAL soon movie, 007: Quantum of Solace. James Bond movies starting from Daniel Craig line are my favourites...more muscle-imploding action..not romance-hairy action =.=

Ahead:
*Information on my campus life*
*Boring grandpa story ahead*
*Nice for curious friends*
*Good for keeping in touch with my sanity, tell me if have become Tarzan then someone has to become Jane from the city

I found this, on a table in one of the classes. And days after that I found another drawing..

XD the term 'jungle' here is just a mere exaggeration. But it's widely accepted by all students here at my place that this place is jungle hah. It's actually just beside the highway leading to Nilai/Bangi interchange. But the fact that if you're on the highway and you want to come here you will need at least another journey of 45 minutes that makes this place "jungle". Plus, it's situated in an area surrounded with lush forests and hills with vast size of palm oil estates.

And yes, lots of roadkills(lots of types too) along the way... And at night with no lamp posts at all which forces the high light to be switched on, it's scary..why? Because you will come across a signboard in the pitch darkness which reads "Awas:Kanak-kanak melintas jalan".

It's at least 10 minutes from any convenient stores for food or entertainment. 15 minutes from UKM. 25 minutes from Kajang. 10 minutes from Inti Nilai. 13 minutes from Nilai College. 15 minutes from Nilai Giant store. At least 35 minutes of KTM to Midvalley. Another 15 minutes to KLCC. Around 1 hour and 45 minutes of KTM to Subang Jaya(Taylors la, Sunway etc). Next destination, Sungai Wang vicinity, Petaling Street and 1-Utama.

This is the model landscape of my campus. The part behind the buildings are supposed to be hills of lush estate of oil palm trees.

It's these quasar time and distances that make us "people from the jungle" haha.

What we normally do:
~Wake up and go to class(normal l0)
~After class, back to room to sleep either to rest for another class or for the whole day
~Use the spare time to play cards particularly chor tai tee
~Go to the bathroom and mandi beramai-ramai(in separate cubicles la)
~Do laundry also together(only if class schedule permits)
~Dine at the opposite seafood restaurant(ironic, seafood in jungle)
~Watch TV there until before curfew time(by 12am)-(this one is not my group culture)
~Play badminton from 11pm to 2am(played basketball(outdoor) too but accident occured so..)
~Enjoy instant noodles together at 3am
~Continue with card game
~Life discussion chatting until 6am
~Sleep the whole next day with only one complete meal(dinner)

I thought I have done this before..never mind, this is in extra detail haha

haah I slept at 7am the other day after calling back to home to wish my dad for his birthday. Some Muslims were already up for prayers. But parents haven't wake up because they took leaves from work. And I was told that Penang was given a day of holiday for some political aim. Funny. And I woke up at 4pm. Basically, this is a kind of culture in college/uni life huh.. either for entertainment or last minute brain inflating studies.

This was the culture in the past month, which is the bulan Ramadhan.. No sleep (or short naps only) until 4am. Ok down to the Student Centre for food. At less than RM5, we can shut the stomach's grumbling for the whole day. 5am, start sleeping. If got class, wake up at 8 or 8.30am. No class, then sleep till 5pm. This was how we coped with one particular copious amount of writing assignment....countless nights... 20 pages full..for only 4 pages of task. woohoo but plain fun. and midterm...serious brain wreckage.

The hangar.

Reasons to stay in hostel(nice advantages):
-fun community socialising
-close rapport among friends and classmates
-fun group studies in anyone's room
-(if my laptop can support great games..) connect with the whole block LAN and DoTA/CS !!!
-easy for group assignment discussion
-super close distance to library or classes
-can sleep until 5 minutes before class and never be caught late
-save big money for accomodation

Reasons not to stay in hostel:
-have to be hardworking and get chops(proofs of being active in campus activities) and compete with over 1000 people who would like to stay in the hostel the next semester
-boring same old food at the cafe-need to travel out to get "extra-ordinary" food
-if your neighbours are high-tech, then 5.1 sound system will accompany your group study
-if your neighbours are dirty, the corridor is gonna smell and be dirty
-if your neighbours are thiefs.....
-dirty toilets...especially the clogging of uncivilised maggi-mee disposal in the sinks
-smelly because most people do their businesses in "sleepy mode";bad accuracy
-all sorts of jungle lifeforms residing anywhere everywhere
-boring if there's nothing to do
-gotta respect the majority Muslims of alcohol/pork/food during puasa etc etc
-gotta bear with more lung cancer symptoms..

Top reasons to get out of hostel:
-the laundry room is constantly scourged by cat shit(DAMN SHIT!) everywhere
-smell is so so so so so shit
-INTI Nilai area life is better
-food there is so different(new to me, you won't find them in Penang
..but now I'm bored already)
-got CCs
-got Cs(but most of them got boyfriends d, sigh)
-hahaha

We should be moving out in the next semester...the house is only 10 minutes away.

The hostels from a distance.

hmm...know wat, long ago we had an meeting. It's a MIAT chinese community meeting haha. Seriously, you can count the number of chinese seniors studying here with 10 fingers..we alone(sem 1) make up already 10. So the fraternity actually grew larger. Cool people, especially in aviation field we get to befriend this kind of "I love aircrafts" people...most of them are from KL so it's interesting to hear about the life in KL...especially the clubs woohoo

ok la...30 more minutes I will have a shower and go for class at 8.30am in an hour time. I couldn't sleep. Got lots of stuffs running in my head and stomach's so full from the 4am meal. Hot sun rising already and thick fogs rising from the jungle.

~Sleeping at 7am is cool. Hear the morning bird chirpings as a lullaby to sleep and forget what's up for the day because you're gona wake up in the afternoon or evening anyway. Food is just all you need after that. Forget and wither...

I told my friend about life being short and beautiful. I referred it to the life of a butterfly. It can live so long as a caterpillar but after metamorphing into the new creature it could only last a week or so.. and about one week later i saw it dead, being carried by giant ants, feasting.
[the beautiful....]

{...this was written more than a month ago...}

This is the latest you could get of me..
Cool full-face helmet but this one's too big for me. Dear someone(s), please show this to Meng Jon, I want to let him see it. It belongs to a friend and he owns a bike, a Kawasaki ZZR250 exactly the same model Jon used to ride. Gona test ride it someday at the apron.

Reap the sowed..Rock ass people.

Anyway, because the writing(about my campus life) is written so long ago, it's outdated. HAHA

Quantum of Solace 2: Heartbreak Armageddon in the process.... The Funeral of Hearts was the prequel and a pilot. ..Allahhuakhbar..

37. Melaka Blitz + Booze Entropy 2

Personal/Friends & Family
oooh..Butterfly award awarded by Cheng Yee...the instructions there I ain't gona follow. My appreciation..sob sob thank you thank you..ahhahaahahha

So...for the Deepavali holiday weekend my friends and I had planned for a holiday plan. It was initially a Genting trip..bus fare only Rm7.80 from Kajang. But then we have a friend who is a prince of Melaka who suggested we go make a visit to the historical state of Malaysia that is Melaka.

We departed in the evening of last friday and reached there within one hour, there's only the border. A few more 10 minutes to reach the cities and first stop was a dinner spot with the friend's family. A treat. Nice food. Then we begun on a night excursion around the city and so we hopped onto the Sungai Melaka River Cruise. A 40 minutes cruising to see the famous spots of Melaka, a night scene of course.

After that, it's 12am already. Our friend took us around to check out the famous bars/clubs/pubs there. Cool eh..Good eh...chicks eh...There is one called Pure Bar. They are organizing a Halloween party. Anyone who come with make-up/costume gets free entrance. Another one just across the road is The Office, I had an inner attraction to it somehow...and then we strolled along the jetty entertainment centre. I could see the Eye of Malaysia already erected there. Balik rumah(friend's grandma house) buat si-eh then tidur...sucker Jonathan pwned the bed..leaving us blanketless and spaceless..my ass got banged basically until I gave up to change to another room without air-cond to rest in peace, literally. That was already 6am.

It's Saturday, whole lotta new places awaited my visit. It was my first time to visit Melaka. Even my family hasn't came. So, let these sets of photos tell the story. It started with a Chicken Rice-ball breakfast. I had 7 or 8 balls. Absolutely tasty. No pictures.

^This picture came through into life..all the while it was only found in the Sejarah Textbooks.

^This is the statue of Admiral Zheng He.

^This place too became a reality.

^A distant view of Eye Of Malaysia...or is it Eye on Malaysia?? hmm..

^The Beast & the Harlot in the City of Evil...note in the writings, the occupation of the deceased as a "merchant" and "captain" ahhah

^I think this is St. Paul.
^Japanese high school students...A LOT. I'm telling you, (fux the max!) I'm excited to see them(girls). But I had an experience there which then I identified them as Jipunas..I ain't writing it here. Ladies, don't bother to be curious I wouldn't want to let you people know. hahahaha

We had lunch at one of the very famous shop which serves Baba Nyonya delicacies from cendol to nasi lemak. We all had nasi lemak, laksa and cendol. All santan-based recipe. Total stomach euphoria. Of course I did buy gifts for people back at Penang. We went on to Makhota Parade shopping mall. Great place..cool. Balik rumah mandi pergi makan malam dengan ayah dan adik si kawan. It's something like bak kut teh..but no it's not, with pork meat and small intestines..in hokkien, hoon cheong. And then we walked on to the roads there which are named Jonker Walk, Taufu Walk..etc(i think so)..similar to Petaling Street night market. After that...

Clubbing. At The Office. Pure Bar was too crowded and packed. #$%^&*(*&^%$#$%^&^%$#$%^& fux &^%$%^&*()*&^%$#$%^& I love the place. It's not usual like dance party clubbing, it's more of a leisure slow-burn clubbing but there are still people who were high and dancing. The waitresses all are dressed in office outfits...sexy. The chicks there...hot and cold. And I'm all hyped up, as I was served by 3 ladies. The music is LOUD so we have to talk(or shout) to the ears..that's the fux, communicating with them ear-to-ear so near(I can feel the ear and the lips..). AH, I can't forget that, man...my first club. 1 bucket of Tuborg. Muahah my friend said he's not bringing me along anymore next time because all the ladies approached only me muahah I'm telling you, I love it.
^So dark..

Oh ya there's prostitutes too luring rich men there...and one successfully caught one. My friend knows how to identify them..body language. Hot and slutty. Lepas tu balik rumah buat si-eh lagi tidur...

The next day, in fact before the next dawn at 5am. The stomach melancholy begun. Terrible stomach ache and food poisoning. The worst/best in my life to date. Toilet was my company of the day. oh the bed too. Porridge and Buns became the meals. Sigh, what's with me with new holiday places. Always. Enough, I don't want to remember the pain here...

Back to campus the next day because other friends were in pain too.
@$$#$%^&*

Melaka is great. Penang and Melaka the two "tak berkutu" states. Even Penang State CM came from Melaka. Fux

Homework homework assignment assignment sports workout rest...

Oh ya.. I got an old album of Lost Prophets - Start Something from there, one that I couldn't find in most shops.

{Advice...Clubbing destroys the heart. The music destroys the ear drums. Drinking destroys the liver. Smoking destroys the lungs. Unprotected ONS destroys the body. Excesses lead to a slow and young demise. Don't go over the line...for leisure once a while it's ok but be conscientious. I'm telling this to myself...but it's a live fast, die young hedonistic cult..huh}
