51. The Next Seasonal Tide

Personal/Friends & Family
Hello again, the January of the year 2009. The beginning of a new year, in fact the very first week. It is also the season in the year which many farewells take place. In certain way because it's usually the time when studies start so people either leave for further studies or to continue their semesters. Looks like a fresh kickstart with smiles and serenity brought forward from the previous year. May the joy finds it way in everyone's heart.

As for me, I will make my move back to the jungle(by the time you read this, I am already there). If you haven't know I brand my place of study jungle. But this photo wouldn't make you think so. Who wants a free ride(in the dream)?
[My first photo with an aircraft. Jonathan took this photo for me]

Good luck to Ye-Wheen in continuing his A-levels for his final 6 months. Go on, get a M.D blues-style. Good luck to Cheng Yee too, at Sunway...know what I duno wat course u doing oso...so BAD of me..island people basically. And to the rest, either still at holidays or going back already or starting on a new journey I wish you HAPPY STUDYING and best wishes in you endeavours.

Oh, for Hooi and Khang Yang. Work your ass off for STPM! Just make sure when I meet you guys again, don't look like some study geek or lose some patches of hair already. To Jon, I am waiting for your big paycheck in the near future. Your turn to treat me REAL big.

So here are some photos for entertainment purpose while I could serve.

ahh..my new partner. For the time being, I am going on a solo hiatus.

[dismantling to check out the innards, that neck space does allow me to fix a humbucker heh]

[Marshall amplifier..WOW..hahah..it's so good. This unit is very simple. So easy to use.]

[This matters so much...it's a Joe Satriani product ok! Planet Waves strap]

And yeah, thanks to Hooi for bending my string like 4 notes?higher and snapped it. But new set of Ernie Ball Medium Slinky equipped its way.woohoo

The splinter that got into my palm. It's minuscule. But to take it out, it's just nice, stinging, morbid and what can say, it's for the love of pain. YW got nice amount of flesh scraped off just recently, in the swimming pool. It's just so good to see blood huh. Dig em'.
[ahha..so small only...but imagine la using a needle to dig it out, to open a hole. Astounding.]
[the piece of splinter...]

My other accounts of pain were stepping onto broken glass pieces, stapling fingertip, burning fingertip using the car cigarette lighter, hitting and getting guitar fretboard splinter into between fingernail and tip and bleed. They are accidents of course and I never(for now) would want to hurt myself like this. Also getting aircraft wiring poked into between nail and tip. So what's your style? haha Be more careful.

And my first new phone. That's Guns N' Roses. Great Buckethead guitars in it haha

So, I will be back in Penang again for the Chinese New Year. Get sweatin'. Till next time. oh yeah..gota return KY his swimming trunk which he left that day...huh so gay.
My top 2 alien-based inspirations are from Joe Satriani and Velvet Revolver materials.
~JS - Surfin' with the Alien [and his affinity for alien stuffs]
~VR-Loving the Alien

For some non-personal/stress-talk write-ups, I haven't got any good materials. No inspiration though. There's nothing much for me to "preach" about haha. Basically just plain fresh season in the year. I just have nothing at all in my head, opinions or whatsoever except a still-born draft which I need to find a suitable time to write and post.

Time oooh...this year will test my time management to the critical level. Failure of doing so spells disappointment and will only reflect my "you-still-duwan-to-change" attitude. But at least I should improve a bit on giving proper time allowances and not procrastinating on and on again. This does apply to everyone, I reckon especially with this new era and generation of youngsters having new toys and "great" lifestyle. So, back to you people..enjoy life.

27. The Sub-Bang

Personal
~It's cool and rainy these days...

[warning: new hairstyle ahead]

I just have to post it up, it's just too beautiful..

An assignment, presentation of the part wing(self-picked) with a model at an exhibition.
The process:

[snacks..as energy]
[..(hard)work..]
[Jonathan, X and Chief Engineer Nizamuddin.]

I hope it does look like a wing to you. This is the story, the under-construction wing that you just saw in the photo was scrapped due to the difficulty in wrapping it up...so the chief engineer took it home and made a new one by himself and fell sick. Truly an engineer hah
After the presentation.
[The 1-Aero-1 wing part group: Faja(class monitor), Nizam, X and Jonat]
[Look at the hair DOT DOT DOT you know StreetFighter's Guile(or etc)~broomhead?..saddd]

Disappointing...not so good comments came out from the lecturer's mouth. Anyway, she's the only judge and the audiences were made up of random people from the other booths and visitors from other class. Not bad. Our booth had the most chicks(with tudung la) spectating. waha

AND this surely looks like the real deal. Seriously. Made by a member in my friend's group. Seriously..the real deal. Styrofoam as base. With real rivets as cosmetics, movable exact parts etc..pure ownage. MF!

wooh this would be the latest of me. Self-indulgence..chei..no la I wanna send this to my parents to show them their big boy XD
[i tell u wat..the hair is much more cooler right now(not the picture) hahahahaha]

23. I'm Not Home

Personal
I learn to...
{not in the mood to type..}
Why?
Not in the upbeat music rocking environment.
Is in the library, with plenty of people around.
No feeling of privacy. hah
I will complete this soon.
Cheers people.
By the way, I am not in KL la...I am in Dengkil! Or Sepang. haha
[1st Physics & Aerodynamics class assignment done in 30minutes...woohoo..]

Twist of fate. I earlier decided to stop dead this post while I was in the toilet. But I decided again to continue it after returning from toilet the following day. I wrote this in a very nice environment. Offline, I wrote this in a piece of text document before posting it. Nice environment=music+privacy. Even though there's a friend watching me now. And Jonathan taking a nap.

[A sound recording of our self-proclaimed motto/rally after a student made that funny MIAT rally]

So, 2 weeks(only?) have passed. The first 4 days of Orientation handled by the seniors were awful. I mean really, not the usual seniority ragging.. but the mental and physical torture that only make you feel like you have came to wrong place. It's not really the senior's fault. It's this one @#$%^&U* who took advantage of the blissful 2-4am time to punish us. Demoralizing. I'm not the only one who wish to express this. There's many others out there who loathed him too. Slept only more or less 5 hours in 3 days and nights.

However, the group fun activities and meal times were really fun. Especially sharing joyful moments with new friends from all over Malaysia with different slangs, accents, and styles. We learn a lot of fun stuffs like dances and claps...heard of Chicken Dance? Yeah, that's actually famous. We learnt to live in harmony. Actually only within the group heh.. It's more of a competition among groups in the games. Intimidating. More over, my group mates were consisted of the people staying in the same floor of our hostel. So it's kinda like really good relationship. Neighbourship. My chinese friends were all mostly from Borneo. waha... one from Labuan, one from Kuching, one from Sabah. Another who is a Siamese from Kedah. And the girls who enrolled are all, girls with tudungs... There's only one who is an international student from Pakistan who stood out from all of them and not wearing a tudung.

So, ..(i have been to Midvalley twice already since being here..woohoo good place to cleanse the mind and the eyes)(argh..i gotta learn to sustain eye contact longer and strike machoness...hmph),

So, basically coming from 300 plus kilometres away from home to study is a stage in life where I learn to be independent. Or at least, more independent. Bangun pagi gosok gigi salin pakaian eh mandi dulu...taklah begini, susah betul. Wake up, look at the clock, back to sleep, wake up OH HOLY MIAT it's 9.30am!!! That happened the previous Friday, the last day of the orientation for the school admin to give briefings on the studies we will have. Yeah shit happens for real. It's the 6th day staying in hostel. Jonathan and I overslept and didn't make it for the first two talks. Coincidentally, many others didn't turn up too so one of the admin guy gave a warning, those who didn't come later in the evening will face disclipine action. Of course we made it.

Our class leader is the smallest guy in size haha he is being made fun of by every lecturer who attended class this week. Lots of changes in the timetable..very bad. So the worst thing ever expected, my class got an off-day on Wednesday. Dumb.

6 subjects, want me to list them down? Ok I try.... Moral Studies(LAN), Technical Mathematics I, Aviation English Foundation, Physics & Aerodynamics, Material & Hardware and Electrical Fundamental I. Sounds fun? The final result is based on 10% of quiz, 10% of Midterm exam, 50% of assignments and practicals, and 30% from Finals exam. Also maximum of 10% absence without reason from the total study hours, which is rounded up to 3 days. Fun stuff heh. A lecturer said it's easier like this compared to 100% result from Finals in the past. The passing mark is 75% to be able to continue into the next semester studies. Maximum of 4 failures after that the whole semester will have to be repeated. Less than that, then a retake of the particular subject in the next semester. Means more shit time. This I think applies similarly to the other schools in our tertiary education system.

So basically study hard, work hard and concentrate hard...serious sick future, man.. this career in aviation is all about work. My physics teacher said, it's all about safety. A few doctors in an operation theatre can do a mistake and kill one life. But if an engineer wrongly certifies for a unsafe plane to fly, hundreds of lives perish. I'm not boasting off my career prospect la but just, I gotta work hard from now on. Be it pilot or what... These only matter to me in the future, DCA, LWTR, EASA, CAT A ~777, CAT B ~737, LAE/LAME, PPL, CPL, ATPL, 747, 777, 4 Bars, Medal of #$%^&*, A340...etc, CIMB, retire with KWSP then rest in peace with honour. Alhamdullilah and Insya-Allah everything goes on well with full HP bar. haha

I will do the Great Gig In The Sky and For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) because You Can't Kill Rock & Roll.

Nasi goreng kampung..nasi goreng cina..nasi paprik...gulai ayam...nasi putih...teh ais...sirap...
[Midvalley's Food Junction's Bakmi Chicken Noodle - Sangat enak dan lazat]

I miss homecook food la. I've been porkless for 2 weeks. My friend said, "bo chiak bak wa ai ki siao liao...".

And it's a smoking community here...dunhill/salem/pall mall/mild seven/semporna.. 1 upon waking up. 1 before brushing teeth. 1 after bath. 1 before meal. 1 after meal. 1 on the way back to room. 2 in the room. 1 on the way to class. 1 after class. 1 in the room. 1 on the way to laundry. 1 after the laundry. 1 after bath. 1 while homeworking. 1 on the way to lunch. 1 after lunch. 1 after nap. 1 before class. 1 after class. 1 before dinner. 1 after dinner. 1 in the room. 1 while trying to sleep. So there's at least 24 ***batangs*** a day for the nicotine fix. hah

9. Future Kaleidoscope

Personal/Friends & family
hey MIAT member, this is dedicated to you and all the peeps studying there.
May 8th - The KL Day
I followed Jonathan down to Kuala Lumpur with his parents. The objectives are to fetch his sister back from UKM and pay a visit to Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology(UniKL MIAT).

Unfortunately, I went with not so good body condition which I didn't feel good about because my coughing would spread germs for the 5 hour long journey in the car and back another 5 hours. So a total 10 hours of germs congested the car with the father, mother and Jonathan and 5 hours only for his sister. I refused to see doctor u know...want to see how independent I am to doctors... but sigh, never mind, don't make mummy cry worry-go see doctor lo today. As expected and usual, inflamed and swollen throat and tonsils. Antibiotic-ANS

Halt, before I go on... let me just wish all mothers(healthy, single, teenage, old, young, pregnant, sick, unmarried etc; as long as you've taken care of a child like a mother) HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. I am proud to say that I bought a heart-shaped donut for my mum... buying gifts is something i rarely do, not because I don't appreciate people but I couldn't think of what to do to return favours. I fear I die not lightening up hearts.

This place is 15km northeast of KLIA. It is also around maybe 15-20km from Kajang, the nearest busy town area. It's in Dengkil district in Selangor. Ulu, you would say. Surrounded by lush forests of oil palms. Nuclear and Atom research centres on the way there. It took around 15 minutes to drive out from this place with perfect no slowing down traffic. No lamp posts. No reflectors. Imagine driving at night, so I name the place the ulu twilight. Interesting, I saw a banner promoting an entertainment centre with jamming studio with a direction. But that direction points to a small road down the barren grassland and cross a river and into the forest. I guess we can jam Guns N' Roses' Welcome To The Jungle song there.

I have nothing much to elaborate about that place though it's a nice place. I am. I am going to study there. I will have Mr. Jonathan Lim as a friend there who is also a part-time HG(tahu-tahulah apa makna di sebalik perkataan ini) which is a good thing. Ok 15 seconds tribute to my friend here, I knew him since like 8 years ago in a school bus when I was the gang leader(HAHAHA I miss those times we used to throw packets of ice out of the bus and sharing laughs with the driver). Only to find him in a same class as me in 2003 for Form 1. Anyway, it's a really conducive location to study at. Clean. Unperturbed. No noise and air pollution. No entertainment outlets. Stress-free huh...

Here I go...the stairway to my dream(note, only at stairway). So long as my eyesight and height could take me to I would still be living with the Wright Brothers' inventions even if not soaring the sky with them. The road to aircraft maintenance engineering(AME)...

Wait, look at this first. MUAHAHA. My certificate for the Hikathon. Hooi, do you want my mum to get your name onto the certificate too?
Alright, I've made a collage of photos which I took with my camera during the trip there. I do think they are little boring. heh And here a bigger picture and another one.

Great... all my posts seem to look so long with such a small(shudn't complain) layout space for texts.
