51. The Next Seasonal Tide

Personal/Friends & Family
Hello again, the January of the year 2009. The beginning of a new year, in fact the very first week. It is also the season in the year which many farewells take place. In certain way because it's usually the time when studies start so people either leave for further studies or to continue their semesters. Looks like a fresh kickstart with smiles and serenity brought forward from the previous year. May the joy finds it way in everyone's heart.

As for me, I will make my move back to the jungle(by the time you read this, I am already there). If you haven't know I brand my place of study jungle. But this photo wouldn't make you think so. Who wants a free ride(in the dream)?
[My first photo with an aircraft. Jonathan took this photo for me]

Good luck to Ye-Wheen in continuing his A-levels for his final 6 months. Go on, get a M.D blues-style. Good luck to Cheng Yee too, at Sunway...know what I duno wat course u doing oso...so BAD of me..island people basically. And to the rest, either still at holidays or going back already or starting on a new journey I wish you HAPPY STUDYING and best wishes in you endeavours.

Oh, for Hooi and Khang Yang. Work your ass off for STPM! Just make sure when I meet you guys again, don't look like some study geek or lose some patches of hair already. To Jon, I am waiting for your big paycheck in the near future. Your turn to treat me REAL big.

So here are some photos for entertainment purpose while I could serve.

ahh..my new partner. For the time being, I am going on a solo hiatus.

[dismantling to check out the innards, that neck space does allow me to fix a humbucker heh]

[Marshall amplifier..WOW..hahah..it's so good. This unit is very simple. So easy to use.]

[This matters so much...it's a Joe Satriani product ok! Planet Waves strap]

And yeah, thanks to Hooi for bending my string like 4 notes?higher and snapped it. But new set of Ernie Ball Medium Slinky equipped its way.woohoo

The splinter that got into my palm. It's minuscule. But to take it out, it's just nice, stinging, morbid and what can say, it's for the love of pain. YW got nice amount of flesh scraped off just recently, in the swimming pool. It's just so good to see blood huh. Dig em'.
[ahha..so small only...but imagine la using a needle to dig it out, to open a hole. Astounding.]
[the piece of splinter...]

My other accounts of pain were stepping onto broken glass pieces, stapling fingertip, burning fingertip using the car cigarette lighter, hitting and getting guitar fretboard splinter into between fingernail and tip and bleed. They are accidents of course and I never(for now) would want to hurt myself like this. Also getting aircraft wiring poked into between nail and tip. So what's your style? haha Be more careful.

And my first new phone. That's Guns N' Roses. Great Buckethead guitars in it haha

So, I will be back in Penang again for the Chinese New Year. Get sweatin'. Till next time. oh yeah..gota return KY his swimming trunk which he left that day...huh so gay.
My top 2 alien-based inspirations are from Joe Satriani and Velvet Revolver materials.
~JS - Surfin' with the Alien [and his affinity for alien stuffs]
~VR-Loving the Alien

For some non-personal/stress-talk write-ups, I haven't got any good materials. No inspiration though. There's nothing much for me to "preach" about haha. Basically just plain fresh season in the year. I just have nothing at all in my head, opinions or whatsoever except a still-born draft which I need to find a suitable time to write and post.

Time oooh...this year will test my time management to the critical level. Failure of doing so spells disappointment and will only reflect my "you-still-duwan-to-change" attitude. But at least I should improve a bit on giving proper time allowances and not procrastinating on and on again. This does apply to everyone, I reckon especially with this new era and generation of youngsters having new toys and "great" lifestyle. So, back to you people..enjoy life.

43. The Limits of The Dead + Sayonara Asrama

Personal/Ideals
Be afraid...the darkness that appears in the daylight. This is serious holy shit that is produced by Slipknot as the latest album after 4 years. All Hope Is Gone. Totally (sic). I recommend it to those who are (sic) of the environment and the life being in control by all The MAN. If you are a Maggot, we revel.

The "nano"gram, the 9-edged instead of 5-sided pentagram. It's imprinted translucent on the front and back of the booklet. Only Maggots could see it haah

There, the origin where my email got its name. #4 James Root, who uses a Telecaster >.<
"Whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger."
~The Joker[Dark Knight]

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Goodbye hostel..(you suck! and your price went up)
hah ahh....no more cat shits strewn wherever favourable. No more holding breaths while doing laundry. It's like Slipknot saying "breathing in sulfur", suffocating.

The closet

The roof (for spiderman acts when any neighbour gets stranded when they left the room locked without having the key)

The shower pipe

The door (whose door knob has its own anti-theft system-pseudolock stuck-tightness)

The room (censored for privacy discreet-Jonathan's side)

Even though there's many downsides of staying in hostel I still love the community and close proximity we have. You could just meet your friends and neighbour-student-mates anytime anywhere anyhow..nevermind, let go. hah

My desktop background! This particular face in the wallpaper seems to resemble a bit a girl(young lady) I met a few times at different places, a stranger but if I'm sane it's the same person(..my fetish for resemblance..). And I know she's staying in the apartment which I am going to move in to next year. Not too cute-not too pretty-just so sweeeet. "She, may be the face I can't forget"...ahh.
[the pink make it looks like a girl's]
It's in my handphone wallpaper too... ya noe, I don't get to "wash eyes" at my place so this is my kind of amusement haah.

So, 1 week to go...a week of final exam. Then Penang will experience a bang that has never occur before. An electrifying experience with more than 2 fretboards transmitting superstrings of distortion concoction fluctuation satisfaction devastation. A Bigger Bang, that's it. Get ready Hooi, YW, Joshua and Andrew (and maybe Jonathan XD).

["The limits of the dead" is a phrase from the song Psychosocial. "breathing in sulfur" is from Sulfur. "She, may...." is from Elvis Costello - She. "A Bigger Bang" is a title from The Rolling Stones]

41. The City of Evil + Electric Experience

Personal/Ideals
In fact, a retreat from city busy life into a jungle means pure fun and leisure but in hedonism terms...welcome to the City of Evil.

The Booze
[the one the other day we shared with Mou Jian]

The Game
[the "chor tai ti" card game that fills up spare time]

The Contraband
[this one is claimed to be only available in duty-free state. If not, it's smuggle item]

And..and and i kill a lot already. The fact is I don't despise insects and arachnids and I usually flick them off rather than killing. But at here, sigh..I do "DOUBLE KILL" or "mo mo MO MONSTER KILL" on the ants, spiders and bees. Cos' they keep coming like some eternal pilgrimage.. But good enough, I don't kill the cats.Nevertheless, i'm still a good young man. enough said =.=

After the mid-semester break I never thought that I would touch any guitar or strings until I return to island. Know what, just 4 days into the continuation of week I hit one. My eagerness grew fiery. I saw guitars in my neighbour's room and of course with no hesitation I'd borrowed it for the week...AH.
[Proof of Play]

1 month later, everything seemed to betray the fate. An electric took its turn on my lap and be abused. Pure luck. My friend told me that a friend brought it but because I don't know that person at all I didn't bother to take any effort to borrow it. Then the next day I overheard a conversation of my class monitor discussing about guitars and his friend who brought. Again, no shy shy balls handsomely made its way to the room and "confiscated" the electric right away..
[Proof of Electric, an Ibanez with 24 frets and two humbuckers. And my ESP pick.]
[As true as the claims of being good at clean tones, the Fender Frontman 15R]

Fuhh.."seperti cendawan tumbuh selepas hujan"---if it's correct.. Suddenly, the world of music spawned a revolution of underground guitarists. They just appear and make their presence felt at a sudden cancelling the perception that people here mostly make up of nerds and junkies. Music junkies, yes. So I'll have a good time jamming and rock in year 2009 with the new bunch of guitar freaks.

Here I would like to share a few videos of great drums and guitars covers with you guitars and drums lovers/fans/enthusiasts/desperados/freaks/collectors/
Lost Prophets - Last Train Home

40. November Rain

Personal
Great quotes here... http://www.phnet.fi/public/mamaa1/johnson.htm

It's the 40th post already wooo...and it's been raining on and off. Especially on Tuesdays without fail since....ever since, Hooi you've been taking it into account hahah. And tomorrow is Tuesday I have 2 mid term exams.

I'm back from camping...Sg. Tua, Ulu Yam, Selangor. Heard of it? It's on the way to Genting Highlands. Cool place. Cool river, too fast the current I couldn't manage to hold on without staying behind the rocks. But not cool toilet, what to do 300 plus men stepping in and out with.

The best activity was river activity. Especially when we got punished to get down to there. We actually enjoyed it more than feeling remorsed. Second would be the night-blind-jungle-trekking. Only a rafia rope to hold on to. Torchlights were not allowed. And there I fell to my side into a puddle or a stream midway..got a small scratch. So it was so adventurously experienced fun. I even got punished to lie on the water way. The darkness. And a total of around 4 hours of sleep only woohoo no big deal. No pictures. Just experience and memory.

2 weeks of studies to go.
2 weeks to study leave.
3 weeks to the final exam
4 weeks countdown to the end.

Ok just for fun...books books books.. muahah

These books are meant to scare the standard one kids, or tell them it's magic. I was this proud first borrower of the book....first in the record. Tell you the truth, i didn't read it. it was merely a motivation charm taking up my pile space. I didn't have enough time for it and the writings in it are super Einstein-ish.

These are the research information book on aerospace. It's titled Progress In Astronautics And Aeronautics.

And I like this book but haven't started on it. Found the other titles in the series too which sound interesting.

So hmm... there goes. Why so serious..?

38. Saw Announcement + Jungle Oddities

Personal
Behold, Saw V.
I don't get to premiere it Yw or Hooi quickly get a copy by Christmas then we'll rock our balls at midnight..

Oh ya, gona catch the coming REAL soon movie, 007: Quantum of Solace. James Bond movies starting from Daniel Craig line are my favourites...more muscle-imploding action..not romance-hairy action =.=

Ahead:
*Information on my campus life*
*Boring grandpa story ahead*
*Nice for curious friends*
*Good for keeping in touch with my sanity, tell me if have become Tarzan then someone has to become Jane from the city

I found this, on a table in one of the classes. And days after that I found another drawing..

XD the term 'jungle' here is just a mere exaggeration. But it's widely accepted by all students here at my place that this place is jungle hah. It's actually just beside the highway leading to Nilai/Bangi interchange. But the fact that if you're on the highway and you want to come here you will need at least another journey of 45 minutes that makes this place "jungle". Plus, it's situated in an area surrounded with lush forests and hills with vast size of palm oil estates.

And yes, lots of roadkills(lots of types too) along the way... And at night with no lamp posts at all which forces the high light to be switched on, it's scary..why? Because you will come across a signboard in the pitch darkness which reads "Awas:Kanak-kanak melintas jalan".

It's at least 10 minutes from any convenient stores for food or entertainment. 15 minutes from UKM. 25 minutes from Kajang. 10 minutes from Inti Nilai. 13 minutes from Nilai College. 15 minutes from Nilai Giant store. At least 35 minutes of KTM to Midvalley. Another 15 minutes to KLCC. Around 1 hour and 45 minutes of KTM to Subang Jaya(Taylors la, Sunway etc). Next destination, Sungai Wang vicinity, Petaling Street and 1-Utama.

This is the model landscape of my campus. The part behind the buildings are supposed to be hills of lush estate of oil palm trees.

It's these quasar time and distances that make us "people from the jungle" haha.

What we normally do:
~Wake up and go to class(normal l0)
~After class, back to room to sleep either to rest for another class or for the whole day
~Use the spare time to play cards particularly chor tai tee
~Go to the bathroom and mandi beramai-ramai(in separate cubicles la)
~Do laundry also together(only if class schedule permits)
~Dine at the opposite seafood restaurant(ironic, seafood in jungle)
~Watch TV there until before curfew time(by 12am)-(this one is not my group culture)
~Play badminton from 11pm to 2am(played basketball(outdoor) too but accident occured so..)
~Enjoy instant noodles together at 3am
~Continue with card game
~Life discussion chatting until 6am
~Sleep the whole next day with only one complete meal(dinner)

I thought I have done this before..never mind, this is in extra detail haha

haah I slept at 7am the other day after calling back to home to wish my dad for his birthday. Some Muslims were already up for prayers. But parents haven't wake up because they took leaves from work. And I was told that Penang was given a day of holiday for some political aim. Funny. And I woke up at 4pm. Basically, this is a kind of culture in college/uni life huh.. either for entertainment or last minute brain inflating studies.

This was the culture in the past month, which is the bulan Ramadhan.. No sleep (or short naps only) until 4am. Ok down to the Student Centre for food. At less than RM5, we can shut the stomach's grumbling for the whole day. 5am, start sleeping. If got class, wake up at 8 or 8.30am. No class, then sleep till 5pm. This was how we coped with one particular copious amount of writing assignment....countless nights... 20 pages full..for only 4 pages of task. woohoo but plain fun. and midterm...serious brain wreckage.

The hangar.

Reasons to stay in hostel(nice advantages):
-fun community socialising
-close rapport among friends and classmates
-fun group studies in anyone's room
-(if my laptop can support great games..) connect with the whole block LAN and DoTA/CS !!!
-easy for group assignment discussion
-super close distance to library or classes
-can sleep until 5 minutes before class and never be caught late
-save big money for accomodation

Reasons not to stay in hostel:
-have to be hardworking and get chops(proofs of being active in campus activities) and compete with over 1000 people who would like to stay in the hostel the next semester
-boring same old food at the cafe-need to travel out to get "extra-ordinary" food
-if your neighbours are high-tech, then 5.1 sound system will accompany your group study
-if your neighbours are dirty, the corridor is gonna smell and be dirty
-if your neighbours are thiefs.....
-dirty toilets...especially the clogging of uncivilised maggi-mee disposal in the sinks
-smelly because most people do their businesses in "sleepy mode";bad accuracy
-all sorts of jungle lifeforms residing anywhere everywhere
-boring if there's nothing to do
-gotta respect the majority Muslims of alcohol/pork/food during puasa etc etc
-gotta bear with more lung cancer symptoms..

Top reasons to get out of hostel:
-the laundry room is constantly scourged by cat shit(DAMN SHIT!) everywhere
-smell is so so so so so shit
-INTI Nilai area life is better
-food there is so different(new to me, you won't find them in Penang
..but now I'm bored already)
-got CCs
-got Cs(but most of them got boyfriends d, sigh)
-hahaha

We should be moving out in the next semester...the house is only 10 minutes away.

The hostels from a distance.

hmm...know wat, long ago we had an meeting. It's a MIAT chinese community meeting haha. Seriously, you can count the number of chinese seniors studying here with 10 fingers..we alone(sem 1) make up already 10. So the fraternity actually grew larger. Cool people, especially in aviation field we get to befriend this kind of "I love aircrafts" people...most of them are from KL so it's interesting to hear about the life in KL...especially the clubs woohoo

ok la...30 more minutes I will have a shower and go for class at 8.30am in an hour time. I couldn't sleep. Got lots of stuffs running in my head and stomach's so full from the 4am meal. Hot sun rising already and thick fogs rising from the jungle.

~Sleeping at 7am is cool. Hear the morning bird chirpings as a lullaby to sleep and forget what's up for the day because you're gona wake up in the afternoon or evening anyway. Food is just all you need after that. Forget and wither...

I told my friend about life being short and beautiful. I referred it to the life of a butterfly. It can live so long as a caterpillar but after metamorphing into the new creature it could only last a week or so.. and about one week later i saw it dead, being carried by giant ants, feasting.
[the beautiful....]

{...this was written more than a month ago...}

This is the latest you could get of me..
Cool full-face helmet but this one's too big for me. Dear someone(s), please show this to Meng Jon, I want to let him see it. It belongs to a friend and he owns a bike, a Kawasaki ZZR250 exactly the same model Jon used to ride. Gona test ride it someday at the apron.

Reap the sowed..Rock ass people.

Anyway, because the writing(about my campus life) is written so long ago, it's outdated. HAHA

Quantum of Solace 2: Heartbreak Armageddon in the process.... The Funeral of Hearts was the prequel and a pilot. ..Allahhuakhbar..

26. The Medium Bang

Personal/Ideals

New hairstyle...
It looks new and erm...not sure I like it or not but I laugh every time I look at my shadow or into the mirror citing the shape of the crown.

Anyway, never mind. New style though. Head is lighter now. Shortest hair length ever since erm September 22nd 2007, the last student style haircut ..woohoo.. yes I keep the dates in my head. Not bad eh, senior cut at RM12 compared to RM21 for the same level at Passion in Penang. muaha
XD

Olympics 2008. Lee Chong Wei lost to Lin Dan. A spectacular loss. First set at 12-21 and then something like 7-21. Pure power loss.
Major disadvantage: The muscles. Sooo big, difference. And Lin Dan applied a great tactic in my opinion which put Chong Wei at the edge. The way he orchestrated the play, especially giving the hit which forces Chong Wei to run to the back. And with small muscle comes small power-packed hit. At least, in my opinion. And Lin Dan is faster at recovery from desperate low attacks. Overall, both performed well(because they are both better than me for sure) hahah. erh, sorry for the non-badminton terms I used. Why didn't anyone give a... HULK SMASHHHHH!!!

Hmm...brain wreckage...haven't been doing sports in a while. Most of the time chor tai tee in the room only and sleep sleep sleep

Workload piling up like at the Malaysia dump amount increment rate. So sleeping is vital. But not bad I've been able to stay static with eyes opened and ears opened a tunnel from left to right but mind on the bed during the lectures. Nevermind, it's ok..as long as you attend the lectures and receive the charm of knowledge. bla bla bla

And know what, I like the LAN Moral Studies' method of explanations. Imagine reading or listening to Stressm principles from Jared. Sometimes out-of-the-world... krappy.. subtle... meaningful but inexplanatory...etc wtf. But it ain't gona be good for my revision and exams. Shit happens at times.

But I still like it, I like it out-of-the-mind visualisation. Subjective with a hint. Quantum and superstring. whatever la..just make sure I don't fail it.

hmm...sickness never ends here, an unbroken cycle..especially with mucous and phlegms, maybe very much aggravated by lots of smoke. So the only source of pollution in this jungle is mostly Dunhill and Winston. Lungs cancer. Hypoxia.

But this one is really good, trust me. My dad has and uses it. Oh ya...want to know something? Big Bikes. Great Bikes. WAH! So far, Ducati. Suzuki. Kawasaki. And the largest and latest spotted, another Kawasaki. I only managed to get pictures of the Ducati. Inconvenient for me to post so just type search Ducati bikes in your browser. That kind of bikes..superbikes. The latest Kawasaki is a ZX-10R, imagine it. Brand new..at least if not maybe 1 year old. 1000cc sports racer! This paragraph is only dedicated to 2-wheeler lovers/fans.

Next update coming soon..
..No Stressm talk this new season..

25. Jungle Paradise

Personal/Friends & Family
Outdated post but updated altogether.
wana know something? I grew fatter. The humongus amount of carbos and spicy stuffs they went to build up above my 6-packs. Nope, actually no difference, plus minus with sicknesses..

ok, 1 month has passed. Or 4 weeks. Pretty fast. Cash also runs out pretty fast. So I use Jonathan's budget plan of RM10 a day. It's good. Breakfast on food that can be found in the room including red ants. And Rm5 control on each, lunch and dinner. It's rather quite hard because the dishes we get to choose everyday is not bad and they cost a lot. For your information, the food stall is handled by KLAS(KUala Lumpur Air Services..i think so) and some other company and they cook Nasi Melayu with Melayu dishes. A lot of choices. Opposite our campus, there's this Hassan Seafood(how ironic, a seafood stall in the middle of a jungle) which sells good and affordable malay food.

We have Soho shops too on the way to the campus. Soho mini market. Just a name.

I repeat, Jenderam Hulu. Not Kuala Lumpur. HAH

4 weeks. 3 Midvalley trips. 2 KLCC. 1 Subang Jaya. Countless Bangi and Kajang rounds. Endless commuter train sittings. Longest was to Subang...2 hours for RM4.70. Good ol' KTM. Sometimes good at times bad. Good is either when you have plenty of seats or space to sit or stand and relax OR there are pretty/beautiful/sexy girls/ladies to scope. Really. Really, when you have nothing to do you just enjoy the view, scoping is my passion's killing floor. Bad is when the coach is already filled up with humans and there are so many more humans who want to join the cram-and-bang-ass mardi gras in the train. They just go in and push, and push with the train's momentum. So sexy/pretty/beautiful girls/ladies or girlfriends/wives please try not to join the "party". Better late than being touched.. hah

[chicks..beside the KTM station]

I think deprivation of pork eating induces excess production of libido. hahaha so we have to go Kajang get our pork. No, maybe getting our pork increases the production..haha

Movies covered:
-Dark Knight
-Red Cliff pt.1

Watched Dark Knight with Wilson(Labuan Tai lou) and Ben(Kuching school Drum Major)...Borneo kids. heh. Then Red Cliff with Jona, Cynthia, YW and Hon Mun(this one YW brought along, Penang guy oso).

Aha, now(so far) we are armed with 2 Penang Free School(Old Frees) friends. One is a fellow classmate and another a senior here(both were seniors in our alma mater). I can recognize this senior and he actually has a PPL(Private Pilot License) already with the Eagle(some model) light aircraft.

Tribute
..deprived...

My newly bought book from Kinokuniya, Simple Science of Flight by Prof. Henk Tennekes and Jonathan's newly bought model of A380.
I like not-so-thick simple yet detailed and interestingly meaningful books. Targetting book on Thermodynamics...will search and purchase next time.

[My dict. and novel(which hasn't been completed after 4 years of attempt).. and a borrowed one from the library.]

[Also recently borrowed for leisure and long-term information(especially the right one), I think I will go get the similar one(or exact, "not-so-thick simple yet detailed and interestingly meaningful") also next time.]

Road to MIAT.

Entrance.

From the inside.

The billboard, at night.

woo...woot! Last hour of the Animefest organized and held in Taylor's University College(YW eh territory).
[The cosplayers dancing.]

The 3rd standing from right was vkei Mana(Malize Mizer/Moi Dix Mois) cosplayed by a girl. Damn chun(duno how she look lik oso without the 10mm thick make-up). I should have taken a photo with her...but nvm..hah YW ah, intro a bit hehe. And I played YW's rented drums! so pucking awesome! I for the first time have a small audience watching me play without drumsticks...and they were girls =D
And this is my room mate. The position upon waking up. No, it's morning prayers... XD it's Jonathan
Few days after writing this finish, I went to Kinokuniya again with friends and bought a new book...
Here's the new twist... no, I mean add-on. haha

I came back to the island on 9th, precisely at 3am. Short complicated event happened to us with the bus... so ended up coming back so late(or rather so early of the day). Slept at 6am. Woke up at 11.30am. Alamak... Meng Jon was waiting at Gurney already. Good friend, super punctual. Where was I? Oh, still in pyjamas at home. So I went to Gurney.

A Gurney trip after erm..5 weeks maybe.. the girls kinda improved isit?? not bad eh.. Or my eyes opened wider after seeing KL ones..who knows. So, I finally...wonderfully...happily...gladly meet up with Jon and Hooi, gf included. Ah...wat a nice reunion. Sad at the same time. It's just not so same anymore back there(Penang) with the people. It's just not the nice it intended to be. God or Stresser's God knows maybe but who else knows?

Never mind, humans invented the clock and the watch. Therefore, there is time. I believe in time. Lives and deaths go with time. That suggests flow. Followed by changes. Ultimately, improvement/degradation. Who cares..

So it's nice...it's really nice to be back. To see smiles. To see my family. Surprised my aunts... To pray for my grandparents, such coincidence and ya, met my grandpa's sister who is 97 years old woohoo as she sits on the wheelchair waving to us goodbye to the exit of the place like Queen Elizabeth haha. To meet friends. To taste the homecook food. To smell the island air. To drive my Viva. To bang my bolster. To touch my bed. To play my guitar. Just as I stepped foot onto my home compound, I felt as if 2 days have passed since I left. Really, home is really home. Though my hostel room is my new love. To see the same old buildings again. It was only 5 weeks...wth. Yes, I like to fly high and soar into freedom but no matter how far I teleport I will still come back someday. The malay proverb would be the one saying about the bangau is it?..think so..

Anyway, that's all. Heavy workload coming soon. Bye again.
